From the article:
The Breaking the Cycle speakers left the middle school students with a message of learning self-respect and respect for others. After all, according to Arnold, "Red or black or white, people are people and we're all the same. Empathy, compassion and forgiveness -- these are three words that young people should think about and practice every day."
"Coordinated by the high school’s Interact Club, the assembly featured three speakers from Breaking The Cycle — program director Ian Winter, motivational speaker Hashim Garrett, and former Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Chief Charles Williams.
Winter introduced the program and spoke of the overall messages of well known non-violence proponents such as King, Gandhi, and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, but also spoke of individuals like Columbine victim Cassie Bernall."
