Thank you to the Interact Club for the introduction and the good work you are already doing promote peace and understanding.  It is also great to know that a Rachel’s Challenge club was recently stared here.

Ian Winter of Breaking the Cycle spoke first to introduce the program and share the stories of the women and men featured in the large portraits on the stage.  Hashim followed Ian reiterating the courage that it takes to pick someone up who is low yet how it takes no courage to kick the one who is already down.  Charles Williams then told the story of the invisible injuries he experienced growing up in an alcoholic household and the weight that was lifted when after 50 years of carrying this burden he was finally able to forgive his mother.

There followed a very interesting Q&A and book signing with many students and staff coming to talk with one or the other speaker.

Check out the article in the Daily Mail about the assembly.
