As the Principal of Soehl Middle School I would like to extend ANOTHER Thank You for coming to our school and sharing your stories with our students. For 600 Middle School aged children to sit so attentive and engaged for ninety minutes is proof that each of your stories touched and left an impression on every one of them. I too, was fortunate that there were no emergencies and I was able to stay for the entire program. There was sadness in each of your stories; but the fact that each of you had the strength to turn that hurt into a positive experience, is a life lesson that my students could not get out of any school book. I feel that the students (and staff) were lucky to be able to hear your message on "forgiveness" and realize the inner strength (within each of you) that it takes to forgive and turn a bad situation into a positive lifestyle. Again, Thank You!!!

Thank you so much for your wonderful assembly!! It was heartwarming, personal, and inspirational!! I lost one friend to suicide many years ago and, just a few years ago, a very dear friend - by God's grace - survived an attempt. He is open to talking about it and always tells us that it wasn't our responsibility. It was this illness of depression that led to his attempt. It taught me a lot and helped me let go of the anger and misunderstandings I had about suicide. All of the stories you shared touched me in some way and I think it did the same for many of our students. Thank you so much!!!!

I have to say thank you all for sharing your personal life experiences. I know that they touched me as I have had some tragedies in my life and find it a process to be able to move on. I feel that our students gained insight to their own personal issues as many students did make comments on how each story touched them. As a teacher, my door is always open to my students all day so that they have a place to come to to vent and even seek comfort and advice. I respect my students and thank them for letting me share in their lives and help them through some difficult issues. Many times children don't feel that an adult will take the time to listen to their concerns. I feel that it is our responsibility as teachers to support our students in whatever matter they need. It is also a good way to help guide them in the direction to seek the proper professional help to their situation. Thank you all again for your time and sharing your own personal stories. We need more individuals like yourselves to connect with the youth of today.

This was a great assembly and was really interesting. It changed my mind about talking smack about nerdy kids. I know now, instead of bringing them down bring them up.
