I'm the librarian at P.S. 206, and got to listen to Mr. Garrett speak to the 7th grade today. He was so honest and open, and spoke in a way that made the kids listen. Many of us were teary eyed, and I think everyone who paid attention left the room knowing more than when they came in.

I really appreciated it when Hashim came, he really made me realize something. I read the book multiple times and it made me realize I had to forgive my father for the things he had done to me. Thank you!!

Thank you for your amazing speeches and how you guys have overcame your bad live's. It was Amazing! I got teary at times and also I was touched when Hashm Garrett said he 'looked up at the sky and said God please don't let me die' since I believe in God that touched my heart! Thanks for coming to talk to us! I appreciate it! Thank you.
